8 Gifts To Give Your Pet

1. An annual check up. As convinced as we are that we have actual conversations with our pets, they are unable to tell us, in English, if they are not feeling good. It’s difficult to detect any illness in our pets, which is why it is important to allow a veterinary specialist to examine your furry loved ones to catch and prevent any health issues.

2. Work it out! Aside from those Hollywood-trained dogs that appear in movies like Beverly Hills Chihuahua, our dogs can’t just jump on the Treadmill when they want some exercise. Get your pet running around for about 30 minutes a day to promote good health, good behavior and sleep.

3. Become your own doggie dentist. There’s two real issues with doggie teeth: 1. Oral disease is a big issue with dogs and 2. It’s one of the most ignored areas. Take a trip to the pet store and pick up a “finger doggie toothbrush” that slips over your index finger and some fowl smelling poultry flavored toothpaste that your dog will absolutely love. Gently brush your pet’s teeth and gums weekly to ensure optimal health and minimal oral issues. It’s never too late to start.

4. Get your snacker-snack on. We are told, “Don’t feed your pet, people food!” Well in general, yes, this is correct. However, when you want to spoil your lil guy, give him veggies or lean proteins as a treat. Be careful not to feed your dog straight from your plate or even your plate to your hand to your dog because that pesky habit of begging could start when you have a plate in hand. Use it in place of a dog treat when training or slip it in his bowl after a meal.

5. Prevent disease. With two simple tests of both your pet’s blood and urine, you can ensure he has a healthy profile. Do this once to twice a year to make sure everything is up to snuff and there is nothing going on inside that you can’t see, going on.

6. Massage. Perhaps again, for those Beverly Hills Chihuahua actor doggies, they can take monthly trips to the doggie spa, but for the rest of the K9 world, a simple 15 minute massage from their owner is a little moment of bliss every dog craves. Don’t forget to give your little guy some time to destress and relax. Ahhhh….

7. Doggie play date! Give your dog a play date with your neighbor or best K9 friend once in awhile! Or bring your furry friend into K9Klass for a day of play and training! Dogs love time with their buddies just like we do. :)

8. Give hugs and love. When you walk in the door, is there ever a time when your dog doesn’t give you hugs and love? No way! They love to give love and they love to receive love. Strengthen that bond between you and your pet with gratitude and affection to your lil guy everyday.

Luke Needs Your Help

Hi! My name is Luke. This super nice lady is currently “fostering”, which she says means she is giving me a temporary home to keep me safe while she looks for a permanent owner for me to love and play with.

I don’t mean to sound narcissistic, but I really am the cutest pug I’ve ever seen! The lady taking care of me says I have the best “puppy dog eyes”. Hehe.

I’ve had a pretty good life during my puppy years, but somehow got separated from my original owner. It was tough, but it makes me who I am today and makes me only want to love my new owner even more. I am a year and a half and full of life and love.

During my puppy years, I learned all the basics. I learned how to walk on a leash, sit and stay. I was also house broken so I won’t leave you any surprise messes! I am the perfect doggie to adopt because you don’t have to train me, but I’m still just a kid.

If you are interested in meeting or know someone who is, please call K9KLass, who is helping spread the word to find me a home to call my own. (310) 322-3649.

Love,

Luke

The Benefits Of Wheatgrass For Your Pets

It is common knowledge that wheatgrass is a natural power food for people, but did you know, it is also a highly beneficial food for your pets as well?

Wheatgrass is a natural detoxifier. Although dogs are carnivores, vegetables, fruits and berries have been powerful healing aids for wild dogs and wolfs for decades. Even today, domestic dogs and cats self medicate from grass and plants to soothe an irritated stomach.

Most domestic animals are fed prepackaged foods that sometimes contain preservatives, coloring and fillers. After eating these daily toxifiers, animals tend to try and heal any internal irritation by going back the natural power foods. They can be found nibbling on grass and plants to help detoxify their system. By combining the use of natural, high-protein dog foods and adding wheatgrass to their diet, you can help keep their system regular and prevent internal irritation and irregularity before it happens.

The reason we call wheatgrass a true POWER food, is it’s limitless healing power in dogs and cats. Wheatgrass has been proven to heal animals of cancer, clear up skin problems, help along fertility, rid pets of tape worms and has strong anti-aging effects.

Listen to this touching story about how the power of wheatgrass not only healing this dog, but saved his life.

“I am a longtime breeder of Shetland sheep dogs and Irish Wolfhounds. Since the 1969, I have kept 20-25 adult dogs in my kennel. In case you don’t know it, cancer is the major cause of death for the Irish Wolfhound. But for both these breeds, when they get sick, it is either cancer or liver problems, or problems with the kidneys, skin, or bones. All their illnesses fall under these categories. And in a kennel, you must be especially vigilant because diseases can spread quickly.

We got started feeding the dogs wheatgrass because of my wife. Janice was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1972. In fact, the doctor booked her for surgery within a week of the office visit. She had a grayish appearance and a deep seated level of fatigue. We accepted the accuracy of the diagnosis, but we immediately started looking at alternative therapies. We got the book “How I Conquered Cancer Naturally” by Edie Mae Hunsberger and were inspired by the Ann Wigmore program. We decided to cancel the surgery and try wheatgrass juice therapy. We grew the wheatgrass ourselves and Janice drank about six ounces per day, every day. After about nine months of continuous wheatgrass juice, the lumps in the breast disappeared. The oncologist gave her a clean bill of health. He didn’t ask any questions and he even forgot that she had cancelled the surgery!”

Meet Sasha

Hi everyone! My name is Sasha. I was found wondering the streets of Redondo Beach trying to find someone to scoop me up and rescue me! And someone did! :) Kathy Pirelli, one of the trainers for K9Klass found me and took me in as if I was her own.

The lovely people of K9Klass have been feeding me, training me, playing with me and gave me a warm bed to lay me head down at night. I have been having the time of my life playing with all the other fun doggies that come through the doors of the K9Klass studio facility, but now I’m really looking for a permanent home to call my own and an owner to love.

I am a medium-sized Shep mix and the most loving doggie you will come across. On a typical day, you can find me giving love and kisses to all the fun people that work at the studio. I get extra excited when kids stop by–I am great with children and enjoy their fun energy! My dream home would be with a family that adores me…and I’d preferably have a huge comfy bed! (but I’m not too picky…a little bed would do too.)

I’ve been living in South Bay all my life and just love California and all the dog-loving people in this town. There are great dog parks and trails too that I love to run around in to pounce and play!

Please consider taking me home with you to meet your family and learn how sweet and loving I am. I just want an owner to give kisses to and get belly rubs from. :) For information or to meet me, please call: (310) 322-3649. I can’t wait to meet you!!

Love,

Sasha
